----- "Think we did a good job, Silaya?" Nyx asked, relaxing on the new, soft grass she and Silaya had grown less than an hour ago. "We have helped Nature reclaim a land that was lost to her. I am sure the Mother of All Trees will be pleased with our humble efforts. And whatever makes her pleased, makes me pleased. But, in truth, it should be you whom she should be pleased," said Silaya, turning her face towards Nyx. "You have helped her renew her daughters, and have given birth to hundreds of new sisters. I merely helped the process, as a Daughter of Nature should always do." "Without you though, most of these plants wouldn't have grown at all, especially so fast. And I bet they're thanking you for that," Nyx replied, recalling Silaya's previous talk about her ability to hear plants speak. "Yes. They are thanking me for that." Silaya turned round to play with a nearby daisy. Glamour flowed between her and the plant, and the flower grew. "Although, actually, we haven't done a really good job yet," said Nyx. "Oh? Why so?" Silaya asked, looking curiously over to Nyx again. Nyx didn't answer immediately. Instead, her fingers searched through the small pockets that circled her belt and pulled a little packet out. Silaya's face glowed happily when she recognized the seeds within from their prior conversation, seeds that would grow large and beautiful. "We forgot to plant their big sister," Nyx said, grinning. ----- This is for =OCBZ's contest, The Ship. I paired up with ~Thy-Robocop, using his character, Silaya Woodblood, and mine, Nyx Chaser (aka The Black Orchid). In case you're too lazy to read the profiles (shame on you!), no, they aren't actually on a date or anything - not only are both heterosexual, but neither is interested in romantic relationships anyway. No, the reason they're having this jolly garden day together that Nyx is a botanist who prefers being around plants rather than people, and Silaya is pretty much a dryad (in other words, she's a walking, sentient tree). So, it works. ^^ I wanted to be done with this thing already, so hush. It's due tomorrow! (Well, technically, today.) And before anyone claims this is more than one page - it is NOT! It's measured to fit standard legal paper, I just worked bigger so it'd look better. ~Thy-Robocop did the brainwork and the snazzy written bit there, and I made the image. Our respective characters belong to us, and so does the rest of this deviation. |

The story adds a nice touch
I like the way you did the borders on the panels too, by the way; it goes very well with your overall piece.
